Small Graces

A weekly reflection inspired in part by Bob Bennett's song "Small Graces".

"these are the small graces, the little moments when the miracles come...
they are a reminder to the heart there is more to life than meets the eye...
...sometimes they slip by without notice
sometimes they are very hard to see
other times it's very clear when they are happening to me"

The last couple of weeks have been good ones. Little Lady and I took a road trip to Iowa to see my newest niece, Norma. She was born a few weeks early, and while thankful healthy, she is on the tiny side. She's a peach and both Little Lady and I loved snuggling and cooing over her.

Seeing Norma's oldest sister, Isabell, was lots of fun too - I can't believe how quickly she is growing. I'm certain that these two ladies are going to be life long best buds.

While in Iowa we also decided to get Little Lady's ears pierced. I was so impressed with her strength and determination. There was only one person working the store so she had to do Little Lady's ears one at a time. Little Lady flinched a tiny bit but other than that stayed perfectly still and didn't make a sound - she was very excited to have them done!

While Little Lady and I were away Jeremy and the boys  got busy and built us a new bookcase. That man, he is too good to me!

Traveling wears me out, so when we got home, I took it easy for a few days. We did enjoy a day at our local kids' museum with some friends. Then this last weekend, I got together with same friend  (and another gal) since all our husbands were away for the weekend.

We all miss Jeremy when he's gone but this last time it was really rough on Little Lady. She kept asking for him and saying that she wanted him to come home. On Sunday, at church, she pushed a couple chairs together and cuddled up close to him. Watching these two heart could explode with happiness!
